Correspondence, minutes, subject files, and other papers relating to Stern's service on the King County Council (includes serving as chair, 1977-1978), together with minutes, speeches, reports, photographs, a scrapbook, and ephemera concerning her leadership of the Council of Jewish Women, her civil rights efforts, and other aspects of her political and social life. Also included is a taped oral history interview (with transcript) relating to Stern's background and career. Council papers document efforts by King County government and citizens to preserve agricultural lands in King County. Correspondents include Ruby Chow, Robert B. Dunn, and John D. Spellman.
